Born 6 March 1909 – 9 May 1987), Obafemi Awolowo was educated at Wesley College, Ibadan and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Hons). He then proceeded to England to study law and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple on 19 November 1946.

29 Dec 1944 - 11 may 2011. Otunba Ayodele Soyode was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1974 after having obtained a 1st degree in political Science from the University of Exeter in 1968 and a 2nd bachelors degree in law from the University of Ife (now renamed the Obafemi Awolowo University)
